Michael Dean SmithMichael is a 33-year resident of Moab that enjoys sharing his stories, experiences and knowledge of the Canyon Country landscape with visitors. He is a former Park Ranger at Arches, Canyonlands, Dinosaur and Natural Bridges National Parks, former Senior Field Instructor at Canyonlands Field Institute and former Grand Canyon river and trail guide. He holds degrees in Outdoor Education and Resource Management from Colorado Mountain College and Prescott College, AZ. He is one of the most experienced guides in the Moab region and is well known for creating an informative and fun-filled trip to the Back of Beyond. Licensed guide on the Colorado Plateau since 1981.

Tamsin McCormickTamsin is a native of Zimbabwe that has lived in the Four Corners states of the US since 1977. She holds Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degrees in Geology and has been teaching college courses in geology on the Colorado Plateau since 1993. Tamsin has been Adjunct faculty at Utah State University, University of Colorado, and Prescott College. She has been a Moab resident for over 25 years, during which time she has conducted numerous earth science trainings in the Canyonlands region for schools, universities, government agencies and guide and outfitting organizations. She is a regional expert on the geology of Southeastern Utah and has been a licensed river guide since 1994.
